Via the first two cohorts, 1,100+ newly certified teachers are projected to lead Michigan classrooms by 2028. This includes 229 new teachers in fall of 2024, and 275 more in fall 2025 across over 400 local school districts in Michigan.
Over 4,100+ Applications were submitted for the first two cohorts, counteracting the myth that “nobody wants to become a teacher.” Michiganders want to teach, and Talent Together is removing barriers into the profession.

Registered apprenticeships allow Talent Together participants to gain a full year of real classroom experience in the grade level and subject area of their certification. Under the guidance of high-performing mentor teachers, Talent Together apprentices hone their skills with students for two semesters, preparing them to lead a classroom of their own once they have demonstrated mastery of the teaching standards and completed their certification coursework.
