What is a Mentor Teacher?
As a mentor teacher, you will play a critical role in supporting apprentice teachers to develop into excellent, fully credentialed educators. Mentor teachers will model competencies of excellent instruction, including classroom management, use of high-quality instructional materials, high expectations for student learning, cycles of planning, and student work/assessment data analysis.
Mentor teachers will support apprentice teachers with on-the-job learning for the entirety of the 2025-2026 school year.

How do I become a Mentor Teacher?
Interested individuals should contact their current building and/or district administrator to express their interest in the role.
District administrators will provide the application link to recommended candidates when:
- The district anticipates having a Talent Together Apprentice Teacher pursuing a teaching endorsement that matches the teaching position and certification of the teacher who is interested in being a Mentor Teacher.
- The teacher meets all of the requirements as detailed in the Talent Together Mentor Teacher job description found below.
Please note that interested candidates will need to submit a resume, work sample such as a lesson plan, and their most recent teacher evaluation summary during the application process.
