Voted Educator of the Year by Mackinac Island Public Schools, Lisbeth is certainly making an incredible impact in her role as an educator.
Lisbeth started her teacher certification journey with over 20 years of experience in the school system. She is now finishing her first year as a certified staff member with Mackinaw Island Public Schools. Lisbeth graduated from Davenport University with her certification in General Elementary. She shares “Through many years of supportive roles, I’ve learned so much about teaching and the whole child,” she says. “Talent Together helped me transition from support staff to lead teacher—something I had dreamed of for years.”
How has your career unfolded post-graduation?
Since graduation, my career has been filled with many ‘firsts.’ While I’ve felt prepared for most, it’s also been a year full of growth and continued learning.
How has Talent Together continued to support you?
While navigating my first year in my own classroom a new learning situation arose for me, I reached out to Amy Peterson my Talent Together Regional Program Director. Amy helped me navigate the situation, continuing to provide support and resources beyond graduation.
What are your professional goals?
It was such an honor for me to be voted Teacher of the year by Mackinaw Island Public School staff. My goals everyday are student engagement, student achievement, and teacher effectiveness. With my scholars, I always strive to build a strong foundation for learning! It was an honor to have these goals noticed by my peers.
