Meet an Alumna

Donille began her journey as a paraeducator at Dexter Community School District, where she quickly discovered her passion for teaching and her desire to lead a classroom of her own.

Joylan Furtado’s journey to the classroom began with a childhood passion for guiding others. After moving from India to the U.S. and working in IT, he found his true calling in education.

Rebecca graduated from Central Michigan University with her Masters of Arts in Special Education. She is now a Special Education teacher at Holt Public Schools and opens her classroom to mentor teacher candidates through our registered apprenticeship program. 

Meet a Teacher Candidate

Ken’s journey has taken him from theatre to law enforcement to serving as a school resource officer—but it’s in the classroom where he’s found his true calling.

 John’s passion for education was sparked in 4th grade by the impactful teachers who helped shape his path. Now, he’s committed to paying it forward—bringing that same care, encouragement, and inspiration to his own students.

From Macedonia to Michigan, she pursues her teaching certification with help from Talent Together and is dedicated to creating a positive, inclusive classroom for her diverse students.

From a behavior specialist to a certified teacher, Ruben now teaches alongside his former mentor, continuing to make a meaningful impact on students’ lives.

Switching from healthcare administration to teaching eighth-grade science, Eric’s excited to pursue his passion for science and create a positive classroom environment for his students.

Previously a special education paraprofessional, Dawn is transitioning to a teacher, aiming to advocate for high school students in special education.

With his hands-on approach and commitment to building connections, MJ’s eager to make a lasting impact in special education.

A former Certified Nursing Assistant, Jessie chases her dream of becoming a special education teacher. Now an instructor in the Project SEARCH program, she helps students succeed in the workforce.
